Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born on 19th August 1965) is an American producer, actress and director. Her most well-known work is her leading role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick was awarded two Emmy Awards in 2010 and 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. After the conclusion of the seventh season the series was cancelled on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also known for her regular role as Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was awarded a Golden Globe Award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000), What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). She also starred in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald, an therapist for speech and family and Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV Venture capitalist. She was born in New York City. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian and with English heritage. Sedgwick has declared herself Jewish and has said she is a part of Passover seders.
